To add a new Fund to the system click on the new button and select New Entity.
Now proceed to setup the entity as described in Creating A Contact
When you get to the entity type selection page, select Mutual Fund. If the fund is to use enVisual’s accounting system you will also need to select the accounting entity check box and set up a chart of accounts. This is described in the enAccount help. Financial Entity Wizard
When you click next you will arrive at a series of fund details screens.
The first two screens capture some of the basic fund rules. For example details of initial and subsequent subscriptions and currency. This is followed by a section on waivers and approvals. If the approvals check box is selected and a number of directors are specified, transaction will not be allowed without approval.
The first page records details of the fund this includes launch date, currency, NAV calculation method. This can be either Manual were the user can enter the NAV via the NAV maintenance screens or Import were the NAV can be imported from a specific file or enVisual where the NAV can be automatically calculated directly form the fund account held in enVisual.
The class of the fund can also be recorded, which is user maintainable from the enVisual configuration menu.
You can also flag a fund as taxable and if distribution can be reinvested in the fund. The NAV valuation frequency can also be set for each fund.
If you check the integrated account box the fund will be linked to a chart of account in enVisual.
The subscriber prospectus field will allow you to attach a prospectus document that can be launched from the fund details screen.
Each fund will start of with a default series. The user can change the title of this and set a default initial offer price.
The second page deals with additional rules for subscriptions and redemptions, how the NAV should be calculated and approval details
The third page in this wizard store the notice period for redemptions, and the minimum holding required after redemption. If this is set, redemption will not be allowed if it results in the remaining holding being below the minimum.
There are also a number of special notes and comments fields available on this page.
The final page will allow the user to define a series of extra fields to store additional information for the fund. There are four pages of extra information that can be stored against the fund, all the fields label can be user definable.
These extra fields are managed via the custom fields option from the enVisual configuration. |
