AutoDocs Service Criteria

Once the install completes the service will be installed and will be ran under the Local System Account.  Depending on your environment and eventual configuration of the service the system account may not run the service as required.  Based on this we recommend running the service under a specific account that has access to any configuration locations and the server as a whole.

An option here is to create a new domain user account, set to local admin of the AutoDocs server that can then be used within the windows service account settings and be assigned to any required security configuration or groups to access all configuration folders.

Note: For the service to work efficiently the new account should be a local server administrator and logged on a least once to create a usable profile on the machine

To change the account the service uses, please open the properties of the service from the standard windows services module and reconfigure the logon tab.

Raise SQL access security group

In order for some features of the service to work correctly the user (group) that the service account uses will need the access level raising.

This is done by changing server roles to include the “serveradmin” role from within the security user/group properties within the SQL server. The picture below shows this setting within the properties.
