Master Entities are used to enable the use of Work-In-Progress, Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger Modules. Master Entity is an extension of an Accounting Entity.
Creating a Master Entity Overview There are 2 tabs available when extending an Accounting Entity to Master Entity Master Entity - allows the ability to set and configure master entity details, tax details and wip details Control Accounts - allows the ability to set and configure Billing and WiP Control Accounts
A. Master Entity Tab The Master Entity tab contains the Master Entity Details, Tax Details and WiP Details to be used for a Master Entity
Master Entity Details - this section allows the ability to set Age details, Invoice Layout, Security and also shows the latest financial period available for such Master Entity. The Invoice Layout set for a Master Entity is pulled through to a Customer Record > Invoice Layout by default when such record is been created. The Master Entity Group is the security for who can use such Master Entity within the WiP, Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger Modules.
Tax Details - this section can be used to set the tax details that will be used at the Master Entity level within enVisual360 as required. Invoice Prefix is the value to be displayed for an invoice in the Billing grid for the Master Entity when an Invoice has been created.
WiP Details (Further extension of a Master Entity) The WiP Details section is a further extension of a Master Entity that allows the ability to use the WiP Module. If such module would not be used and required, there is no need to complete the WiP Details section. Ticking the WiP Entity checkbox will indicate that such Master Entity will be used for WiP Module. Ticking the Synchronise WiP checkbox will enable the ability to sychronise WiP within the WiP Module and ticking the Post on Approval will allow the ability to Post an ALLtime entry record once such record is Approved in ALLTime Module.
B. Control Accounts tab This tab is used to set and configure control accounts to be used in Sales Ledger and WiP for the Master Entity. The WiP Accounts section will be disabled when the 'Sychronise WiP' checkbox is unticked in the Master Entity tab.
