Cash Book Entries |
Top Previous Next |
Cash Book processing is similar to Journal processing, excepting that the Cash Book is used to reflect Bank receipts and withdrawals. The transactions are batched in a similar manner to Journals, with a Header and associated transaction.
Sample view:
To enter a Cash Book batch - select the transaction date and enter a Batch narrative in the header details. There are also options to 'Allow Date Change to Underlying Transactions' or allow multi-currency. The first option, when unticked will apply the cashbook data to all transactions added. When ticked, users will have to alter the transaction dates separately.
The bank details can be added below the above selections with the additional option to 'Create Cheque'.
Unlike a Journal Batch, no running total is displayed in the Header or Auto Accrual option. Note: Also note that the account also has to be held with a "bank". Only accounts marked as such in the Chart of Accounts will be available here. See Chart of Accounts, where the Bank field needs to be set to "Y".
When you have set-up the batch then click on the batch to display and enter the transaction screen. Repeat this process until you have added all the transaction for the batch then click on the close button.
