Relational Date Maintenance is used to configure what key Company / Trust dates are selected when created using a Template. To access Relational Date Maintenance, you can go into the Configure menu, click on the down arrow next to Entity Templates and select the Relational Date Set-Up option, as shown below.
On the Relational Date Maintenance Screen there is a list of all of the standard date fields that appear when creating a Company or Trust. When creating an entity using a Template you may not want the Dates to be selected as selected in the Template, you can configure what dates are selected here. The Relational Date Maintenance Screen is shown below.
The Description column is simply a list of all of the standard date fields used when creating a Company or Trust.
The Base Date column has 3 options, which are Current Date, Template Date, and Inputted Date. The Current Date will take the date when you create the Company / Trust as the base date, The Template Date will take the date selected in the Template and the base date, and the Inputted Date will simply allow the user to input the date they wish to use.
The Increment specifies how many units will be added to the base date when you create the Company / Trust
The Units column specifies which units are used for example setting this to Days, adds the increment number of days to the base date to get the date selected for this Date field.
Here is an example of how the dates are used.
The Company Account Year End is set to Current Date, with 10 Days incremented, so when creating a Company using a Template the Account Year End would be defaulted at 18/06/2010 if today was 08/06/2010.
The Company Directors Appointment Date is set to Template Date with 10 Days incremented, so when creating a Company using a Template the Directors Appointment Date would default to 14/04/2010 if the Date was selected as 04/04/2010 in the Template. |
